2023
As you can see, my site has been severly neglected over the last year. I will try to summarize all my musicial acitvities from that year in one post.
As you can see, Kerim and I were nominated for the German Television Award. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but we had great fun going to the award ceremony and to hang out with a great crowd of people.
In 2023 Kerim and I finally cleaned up our hard drives and were able to publish two soundtracks.
One was the score for “Barcelona Krimi – Blutiger Beton” wish you can find on all streaming plattforms. Link is here.
The other soundtrack we were able to publish is the score for “Tatort-Propheteus”. Link is here.
I also was able to publish two works of mine.
One is a piece for saxophone quartet and piano, which I recorded at Teldex Studio with the clair-obscur saxophone quartet and Yoriko Ikeya.

The other release is a recording of TV Nation, a piece for soprano saxophone, piano and tape, recorded with Henning Schröder and Yu-Lien The.

Kerim and I also worked on a new Tatort episode earlier this year, named “MagicMom”. We just found out that it had that highest rating of any TV show of that year! Hooray!
Also we worked on the 5th season of “Blutige Anfänger“. This time we extended our team with two amazing new composers. One is Sebastian Schmidt and the other is Anna-Marlene Bicking. Both are a terrific addition to me and Kerim and we had a blast writing the music for the new season.
As a performer I was lucky to be invited to spend a week at Hansa Studio, recording the latest album by Barbara Morgenstern. The album “Im anderem Licht” will be released on January 26th, 2024. There will also be some concerts in Germany and Austria. I promise to update soon about it.
I also had fun recording some baritone saxophone for my wife, Marla Hansen, for her latest album “Salt” The release date is March 15th 2024. The first single is already online.
The biggest news of all is, that I went to Hamburg and came back with a Selmer Low C bass clarinet. I can’t wait to record and play this new instrument as much as possible. So look out for some really low tunes.
